Personnel Certification Accreditation Workshop:
Understanding the Requirements of ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024 - General requirements for bodies operating certification schemes for persons

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

The standard ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024: General requirements for bodies operating certification schemes for persons has been recently revised, with a new version made public in July 2012.

New personnel certification body applicants for ANSI accreditation must follow the new standard effective January 1, 2014. Currently accredited programs will need to demonstrate compliance with the new standard by July 1, 2015.

ANSI's two-day workshop on ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024, which has offered helpful guidance and support to personnel certification bodies for many years, has been updated to reflect the new requirements in the latest version of the standard.

Objective

This workshop is designed to introduce organizations that are considering accreditation by ANSI to the international standard ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024 - General requirements for bodies operating certification schemes for persons. This International Standard, which has also been nationally adopted as an American National Standard, is a globally accepted benchmark for bodies managing the certification of persons. This standard is being increasingly recognized by the U.S. federal government, the certification industry, and organized labor.

Whether your organization is pursuing ANSI accreditation or not, the workshop is a valuable tool for understanding the increasing acceptance of this globally recognized benchmark in personnel certification. Accreditation by a fair, impartial, and globally recognized third party provides assurance that your certification program is engaged in a continuous review and improvement of its quality, that it meets internationally publicized standards in the personnel certification, and that it is accountable for achieving what it sets out to do.
