Certificate Accreditation Program Accreditation Committee (CAPAC)
Overview
The Certificate Accreditation Program Certification Accreditation Committee (CAPAC) accredits training and educational certificate issuers in accordance with ANSI/ASTM E2659-09, Standard Practice for Certificate Programs. The CAPAC is responsible for the decision making aspects of ANSI's Certificate Accreditation Program and related activities except as provided in the ANSI Bylaws or in procedures approved by the ANSI Conformity Assessment Policy Committee (CAPC) and the ANSI Board of Directors.
The responsibilities of the Committee include:
preparing procedures and criteria for assessment;
formulating policy matters relating to the operation of the Certificate Accreditation Program;
reviewing the process of assessment and rendering decisions on accreditation;
making decisions relating to the granting, maintaining, extending, suspending, reducing, and withdrawing of accreditation;
creating procedures to support the approved policies;
receiving recommendations for accreditation from ANSI approved assessors;
supervising the implementation of accreditation program policies;
delegating authority to organizations, committees or individuals, as required, to undertake defined operational activities on its behalf.
Members and Officers
Membership on the CAPAC reflects a balance of training and education certificate programs' stakeholders to include representatives from various types of training and education organizations, training and learning experts, government, consumer/public interest organizations and other individuals concerned training and educational certificate programs.
